SNOWMOBILE REPORT

UNCLE HANS SENT ME THIS E-MAIL WITH A REPORT ON LAST WEEK-END'S SNOWMOBILE ADVENTURE IN SPOONER, COMPLETE WITH PICTURES. (BTW: I LOVE IT WHEN A GUEST WRITES AN ENTRY FOR OUR BLOG!!!)

Rex, I have received your e-mail and we are considering the Feb 24th weekend. More later. Wendy had rotator cuff shoulder surgery Thursday and is recovering nicely. We had our big snowmobile weekend and it did create some hassles, looking after her and tending to the snowmobilers (like herding cats!) I am sending some pictures..........

...........Neil and Roy had their gear boxes stolen out of the back of the pick-up in downtown Spooner at 0213 the first night. I found these old, old snowmobile suits for them. We wore these things years ago. Ain't it funny?!?.........
.......We had a bad trip with no snow. We got 70 miles and did $2,000 in damage to 9 sleds, mostly skis and wear rods. We are fixing sleds in the garage the next day...........
..........because Wendy was recovering, I did the cooking. I did two"man-cooking" pots of soup and stew which went over really well. Then, on the last day, I hauled out the dutch oven. I made a Chicken ala king recipe that I have been working on. .........
..........This old barbecue grill works great. I started the coals, spread them out, put in the oven, then started the top coals in the space to the front............
.....unfortunately, I made the classic mistake of having the pot too full and the biscuits all burned to the lid! Luckily I Had made a ton of extra biscuits in the oven in the kitchen and everything turned out fine. Today I cleaned the oven (yuk!) and oiled it and put it back in storage in the garage..........
......they never said if they liked it, but 9 people ate all of that hugepot!...........
