WATER FILTER DONE

BY REX
Custom Smiley THE WHITE PLASTIC TOP ON MY WATER FILTER SYSTEM HAS GONE TO HELL SITTING OUTSIDE IN THE DRY DESERT SUN FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS. ANYTHING PLASTIC OR RUBBER SUFFERS ON THE DESERT AND DOESN'T LAST FOR VERY LONG. ONE YEAR I EVEN HAD RUBBER VALVE STEMS ON MY TRAILER TIRES CRACK AND FAIL. TWO FLAT TIRES ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE CAMPER? YUP, I FINALLY CAUGHT ON TO THE PROBLEM WHEN THE DOOR WOULD NO LONGER LATCH. ANOTHER ONE OF RV LIFE'S LESSONS LEARNED THE HARD WAY. IT TOOK THE BOYS AT WAUKON TIRE AWHILE TO COME UP WITH FOUR METAL VALVE STEMS LAST FALL WHEN I BOUGHT NEW GOODYEAR TIRES.

BACK ON TOPIC, I FOUND AND BOUGHT A WHITE METAL PART ON THE INTERNET FOR THE WATER FILTER, AND DURING EASTER SUNDAY COCKTAILS WITH THE NEIGHBORS WE GOT THE PART SWITCHED OUT. AS LONG AS WE HAD IT ALL APART, MARY SCRUBBED UP ALL THE CYLINDERS AND WE INSTALLED THREE NEW FILTERS. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
