Go West, Young Lady, Go West....Day 2

By Delilah
Custom Smiley Delilah and I had a great day today. She will tell you all about it!!

Today we started out in Lincoln, Nebraska around 8:00. We drove 829.9 miles, which brings us to Evanston, Wyoming. We stopped at The Great Platte River Road Archway Monument in Kearney, Nebraska. It was really interesting. They had 8 different stories which were told through personal headsets we were given when we first entered the trip to the past. We got to see old fashion cars, camp sites, toilets, and many more statues. I didn't think i would be interested at all, but I surprisingly was!! After we walked out of the archway, there was a short bridge. There was a fish food thing were you could get a hand full of food for 25 cents. I had no idea of what fish I'd be feeding but after i threw a few pebbles of food in TONS of cat fish were at the surface in seconds. There had to be at least a couple hundred, if not thousand. It was really interesting to see them fight over food.

FINALLY, no farms or barns. Today was all rocks and wide grasslands. The rocks were huge and really pretty. When we woke up this morning it was supposed to be 90 degrees in Lincoln....but the farther west we got the colder it got. I even seen snow today too. We were on I-80 in a Summit Rest area which had the highest elevation on I-80. It was 8,460 feet above sea level. We also seen many license plates from many different states too, that was pretty interesting.

The past few days I've had a lot of "first times". And many more to come. We plan on pulling into Carson City tomorrow, and I can't wait. I've had enough of sitting in a car all day, but I guess I'll have to deal with it if i agreed to come along. I'm sure it will all pay-off getting to see all the things I will, such as Lake Tahoe. I'm really excited by the way.

(EDITOR'S NOTE: WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO ADD PICTURES TOMORROW WHEN THEY ARRIVE IN CARSON CITY.)
