SILVER CITY

WRITTEN BY REX
Custom Smiley THE LAST TRAVEL DAY OF MY WEEK LONG ADVENTURE THROUGH NEVADA. THE WEATHER WAS PERFECT, 65 DEGREES, NO WIND, BEAUTIFUL SUNSHINE, AND THE SNOW CAPPED MOUNTAINS OF THE SIERRA NEVADA. TOWING WAS SO SMOOTH THAT I WAS CHECKING THE REAR VIEW MIRROR TO SEE IF THE BIG CAMPING TRAILER WAS EVEN THERE? SETTING THE CRUISE CONTROL AND LOOKING DOWN AT THE DIFFERENT DIALS AND GAGES ON THE DASHBOARD NOTHING WAS MOVING OR CHANGING EXCEPT THE GAS GAGE. I KID YOU NOT, YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE GAS GAGE GO DOWN ON THIS V-10 WHEN YOU’RE PULLING THIS CAMPER.

BEING THE GOOD RV BLOGGER, HERE IS THE REPORT ON FUEL PRICES:

MOHAVE VALLEY $2.87
PAHRUMP $3.11
TONOPAH $3.24
HAWTHORNE $3.49
CARSON CITY $3.23

THANK GOD, I DIDN’T COME UP THE CALIFORNIA SIDE!

“HOME IS, WHERE YOU PARK IT” AN OVER USED RV’ERS PHRASE, BUT SO VERY TRUE.

CHECK OUT THE SNOW CAPPED MOUNTAINS IN THE BACKGROUND. WE WILL STAY AT THE SILVER CITY RV PARK FOR ONE MONTH UNTIL JUNE 6TH. FROM HERE IN THE CARSON VALLEY AT ABOUT 4,000 FEET IT’S 9 MILES OF MOUNTAIN SWITCH BACKS UP OVER SPOONER PASS (7,000 FEET) TO LAKE TAHOE. A 25 MILE TRIP ONE WAY. WE ARE STAYING HERE IN THE VALLEY FOR THE FIRST MONTH BECAUSE LAKE TAHOE (6250 FEET), THE NIGHT TIME LOW TEMPERATURES ARE STILL IN THE MID - 20’S.

What's the matter with lows in the 20's? You've become a woosie. An old midwest driver shouldn't have had any problems with blowing snow, sand, and dust. Of course we don't tow around a trailer just for kicks back here. Glad to hear you made it safe and sound though.
