DESERT FLOWERS

WOW DOES TIME FLY !!

SEEMS LIKE JUST LAST WEEK GRANDMA WAS ARRIVING IN THE MOHAVE VALLEY FOR THE WINTER AND ZOOM IT'S OUR LAST DAY OFF WITH HER. WE TOOK AT LITTLE DRIVE OUT TOWARDS DAVIS DAM.

DAVIS DAM IS BASICALLY AN EARTHEN DAM AND ALSO MAKES ELECTRICITY. BEHIND THE DAM IS LAKE MOHAVE ON THE COLORADO RIVER.

FROM DAVIS DAM IT WAS ON TO LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA.

WE WERE IS SEARCH OF DESERT WILD FLOWERS. WE FOUND A FEW, BUT IT'S JUST A LITTLE EARLY IN THE SEASON.

IN A FEW MORE WEEKS IT'S GOING TO A SPECTACULAR DISPLAY OF COLOR, INCLUDING THE CACTUS FLOWERS, BUT UNFORTUNATELY FOR GRANDMA IT'S A COUPLE OF WEEKS OFF. WE PROMISE TO KEEP THE CAMERA HANDY AND BLOG AGAIN ABOUT THE SPRING FLOWERS. OF THE EIGHT YEARS WE'VE WINTER CAMPED HERE ON THE LOWER DESERT THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE OF BEST YEARS FOR THE FLOWERS BECAUSE WE HAD A WET WINTER WITH SEVERAL RAINS. ALL WE NEED NOW IS SOME 90 DEGREE WEATHER.

IT MUST BE "MILLER TIME" AS WE'RE ON A ROAD TRIP, SO WE STOPPED AT CHILIS FOR LUNCH. NOTHING TOPS A MARGARITA AND A PLATE FULL OF SLIDERS........

OF COURSE I DIDN'T THINK OF THE CAMERA UNTIL THERE WERE ONLY TWO LEFT.
