LABOR DAY WEEK-END

LABOR DAY WEEK-END, THE OFFICIAL END OF SUMMER. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS, MARY AND I CAN FEEL FALL IN THE AIR. HERE ON “THE MOUNTAIN” THE MORNING TEMPS ARE IN THE MID-50’S. THE DAILY MONSOON RAINS HAVE BACKED OFF, AND THE TEMP IN THE AFTERNOON RUNS ABOUT 75. NICE !!!

IT BRINGS A SMILE TO MY FACE WHEN I BRING UP FACEBOOK AND SEE PICTURES OF THE KIDS RETURNING TO SCHOOL.

THE EXPERMENT OF RETIREMENT HAS GONE WELL. I THOUGHT MAYBE, I’D GET BORED WITH NOTHING TO DO ALL DAY, BUT THAT HASN’T BEEN A CONCERN. IN FACT, THERE ARE PROJECTS ON THE “TO DO” LIST THAT HAVE BEEN MOVED BACK TO NEXT SUMMER. WE ONLY HAVE A MONTH LEFT ON THE MOUNTAIN, AND THERE ARE STILL 6 ITEMS ON THIS YEARS LIST, AND OF COURSE WE’VE BEEN LISTING THE ITEMS THAT WE USUALLY DO IN THE FALL AT MOHAVE VALLEY.

WITH THE MOHAVE LIST, FOOTBALL, AND OUR RETURN TO WORK, I THINK THE SIX MONTHS OF WINTER WILL GO FAST, AND WE WILL BE RETURNING TO “THE MOUNTAIN” READY FOR ANOTHER SIX MONTHS OF RETIREMENT. SIX MONTHS HERE AND SIX MONTHS THERE, IS THE PERFECT PLAN FOR US.

NEXT ON THE AGENDA IS LIVING ON THE BEACH FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER ON SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TEXAS. WE’VE ALREADY FOUND A PACKER BAR ON THE ISLAND, AND WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO ENJOYING OUR PACKER GAMES IN SHORTS AND T-SHIRTS.

  GO PACK GO !!!
