MARY AND I SAFELY ARRIVED HOME ON “THE MOUNTAIN” IN ARIZONA AT 2 PM YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. WE SPENT 10 DAYS IN WISCONSIN FOR MARY’S 50TH CLASS REUNION HELD IN PRAIRE DU CHEIN.
THANKS TO MIKEY, HANS & RENEE, AND HEATHER & RANDY FOR YOUR WARM HOSPITALITY AND LODGING.
PART OF THE CLASS REUNION ACTIVITIES INCLUDED A BOAT RIDE ON THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER, AND BECAUSE OF THE HIGH WATER WE WERE ABLE TO NAVIGATE MANY OF THE BACKWATER SLOUGHS AS WELL AS THE EAST CHANNEL OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIGHT ALONG PRAIRE.
MIKEY, MARY, AND I WERE ALSO ABLE TO SLIP IN A SHORT ROAD TOUR WHERE WE SHOUTED “HOWDY” TO MARK AND JAYNE AT YELLOW RIVER, DID BOTH BARS IN WATERVILLE, AND A PIZZA AT ROSSVILLE. THE THREE OF US HAVE CERTAINLY ENJOYED OUR ROAD TRIPS ALL OVER NORTHEAST IOWA, SOUTHWESTERN WISCONSIN, NEVADA, AND ARIZONA OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS.
IN SPOONER WE CAUGHT THE LAST DAY OF SUMMER WITH A COUPLE OF LAPS OF CABLE LAKE ON THE PONTOON.
OUR TIME IN LA CROSSE JUST HAPPENED TO BE OKTOBERFEST WEEK-END!!! WE DID IT ALL INCLUDING THE TORCHLIGHT PARADE, THE MAPLELEAF PARADE AND OF COURSE WE FOUND FOOT LONG BRATS AND PLENTY OF COLD BEER.
NOW WE HAVE THE MONTH OF OCTOBER TO ENJOY THE WHITE MOUNTAINS OF ARIZONA AND OUR CABIN BEFORE WE HEAD OUT TO SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TEXAS FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER.
