Greetings

Greetings as in "Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year" are a way in which we all let others know we remember special days and holidays.

The White House has a greetings department and will, with two months notice, send greetings to anyone celebrating a birthday of 80 or more or an anniversary of 50 years or more. When my Mother turned 80 in 2001 I arranged for a White House greeting to be sent to her. It was signed by George and Laura Bush, which I assume was actually a VERY good stamp or something more hi-tech of their signatures. In May my Mother will be turning 88 so I decided to arrange for another White House greeting to be sent to her.....

Arizona RV park residents get a break on utility charges

Many RV park residents in Arizona will get a break from high electric bills because of a new law recently signed by the governor. A.R.S. 33-2107 regulates the utility fees RV parks can charge their guests.

According to a letter in the Yuma Sun, many RV parks charge residents of RV parks as much as 15 to 19 cents per kilowatt hour. Under the new law RV park owners can only charge the same rate that is charged to a "single family residential rate" by Arizona Public Service, which is currently 8.5 cents per kilowatt hour.

The landlord can recover charges imposed on the park such as a service charge, taxes, etc., but it must be prorated to all in the park receiving electric each month and cannot include charges for electric in the common areas of the park, i.e., office, street lights, heating the pool, recreation hall, etc.

The landlord must post on the bulletin board a copy of the park's bill showing these charges. The landlord may charge an administrative fee for the actual charge of processing your bill each month. The landlord must credit you for overcharges on your next bill if it is found you were overcharged.

SUNNY & 80

I'VE BEEN SO CAUGHT UP IN THE "GLOOM & DOOM" OF THE NEVADA ECONOMY AND THINKING ABOUT PLAN "B", THAT I FORGOT TO BRAG ABOUT THE RETURN OF "SUNNY & 80" WEATHER HERE ON THE MOHAVE DESERT.

TODAY WAS A DAY OFF, AND FRANKLY WE'VE JUST BEEN HANG'IN AROUND CAMP AND ENJOYING THE "SUNNY & 80" WEATHER.

MY TINY SOLAR PANEL HAD RECHARGED ONE OF MY WALMART CAR BATTERIES, ONLY TOOK THREE WEEKS OF SUNNY WEATHER, SO I USED THE NEW INVERTER AND TUNED IN A CLINT EASTWOOD MOVIE ON TV, CRACKED OPEN A FEW MILLER 64'S , GOT OUT MY CALIFORNIA HAPPY COWS, SWISS CHEESE AND SAT BACK TO WATCH THE MOVIE.

READING ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THE FOOT OF SNOW THAT'S SUPPOSED TO HIT NEW YORK CITY IS LIKE ICING ON THE CAKE, AS SIT HERE IN MY SHORTS AND T-SHIRT IN THIS PERFECT ARIZONA WEATHER.

WILD BURROS

THE WILD BURROS IN THE BLACK MOUNTAINS TO OUR EAST ARE LEFT OVER FROM THE GOLD MINNING DAYS OF THE 1800’S, THEY WERE USED BY THE MINNERS TO PULL HEAVY CARTS OF ORE OUT OF THE MINES. WHEN THE GOLD MINNING PLAYED OUT THE CREATURES WERE TURNED LOSE TO ROAM WILD IN THE MOUNTAINS.

IN IT’S HAYDAY THE BLACK MOUNTAINS IN OATMAN ARIZONA AREA PRODUCED ABOUT $36 MILLION IN GOLD. TODAY THE BURROS ARE PROTECTED BY THE GOVERNMENT JUST LIKE THE WILD MUSTANGS OF NEVADA. A COUPLE OF THE CRITTERS WANDERED DOWN OUT OF THE MOUNTAINS AND DOWN TO RV PARK THIS AFTERNOON.






ON A SIDE BAR: I’M ENJOYING THE LAST OF THE WISCONSIN DEPPLER’S BABY SWISS FROM CHEESEDAYS. WE’VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT A TRIP INTO VEGAS ON THURSDAY WITH A STOP AT THE TRADER JOE’S MARKET, MAYBE I CAN FIND SOME “IMPORTED” SWISS CHEESE FROM WISCONSIN THERE…………….
