TRAVEL DAY

WRITTEN BY REX
Custom Smiley THINGS HAVE SETTLED DOWN A LITTLE AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF CHEESEDAYS, BUT IT WAS STILL A PACKED FULL DAY. MY MOM WAS THE FIRST TO STAY OVER NIGHT IN THIS CAMPER AND WE LAID THE TABLE FLAT TO MAKE A BED FOR HER. THE FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS WAS A BUYING TRIP TO THE DECATER CHEESE FACTORY JUST UP THE ROAD. WE ARE STOCKED UP WITH CHEESE NOW, AND I EVEN BOUGHT A LIMBURGER TO TORMENT MY SON-IN-LAW WITH WHEN WE GET TOGETHER IN NOVEMBER CAMPING.

UNFORTUNATELY FOR US THE WEATHER CHANGED TO CRAP, IT USUALLY DOES THIS TIME OF THE YEAR JUST TO REMIND THE GOOD FOLKS OF WISCONSIN THAT WINTER IS NEXT. THE FORCAST FOR THE WEEK IS COOLER SO I DECIDED TO SET UP CAMP IN LA CROSSE NEXT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE ELECTRIC AND TV. I ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO YELLOW RIVER, BUT DAM IT GETS COLD DOWN IN THAT HOLLOW BY LITTLE PAINT CREEK.

THE TRAVEL DAY WAS WINDY, IT MADE SLOW GOING. MARY PEELED OFF AT FENNIMORE TO SPEND THE NIGHT WITH HER MOM IN MT. HOPE. SHE WILL BE BACK HERE IN LA CROSSE TOMORROW AFTERNOON.
