PINE SAP REMOVAL

ALTHOUGH THE HUGE BEAUTIFUL PINE TREES AT LAKE TAHOE ARE A MAJOR PART OF THE CHARM, THEY DO HAVE THREE PROBLEMS. FIRST IN THE SPRING COMES THE YELLOW POLLEN, A FINE DUST THAT FALLS FROM THESE MAJESTIC TREES. IT GETS ON AND IN EVERYTHING, AND I OFTEN WONDER ABOUT THE IMPLICATIONS OF BREATHING THIS DUST FOR A MONTH?

THE SECOND PROBLEM FOLLOWING THE POLLEN IS THE DRIPPING PINE SAP. IT GETS ON EVERYTHING, WHEN YOU WALK ON IT IT EVEN GETS TRACKED INSIDE THE CAMPER.

THE LAST PROBLEM IS THE HUGH PINE CONES FALLING. IF THEY FALL EARLY IN THE FALL BEFORE THEY OPEN, THEY CAN DO SOME DAMAGE TO A VEHICLE. MY CONCERN IS THE THIN MEMBRANE ON THE CAMPERS RUBBER ROOF.

TODAY I'M ADDRESSING THE PINE SAP THAT SEEMS TO ALWAYS LAND ON THE CAR AND TRUCK. HERE IS A PARTIAL COLLECTION OF PRODUCTS I'VE TRIED TO REMOVE THE STUBBORN STICKY PINE SAP FROM OUR VEHICLES.

THIS YEAR THE TRUCK WAS PARKED ACROSS THE STREET AND I IGNORED THE PINE SAP COLLECTING ON THE TRUCK. I KEPT UP FAIRLY WELL ON KEEPING THE SAP CLEANED OFF THE HONDA.

WE LEFT LAKE TAHOE RIGHT AFTER LABOR DAY AND THE BIG RED PICK-UP WAS PARKED IN THE BAKING HOT DESERT SUN FOR ABOUT SIX WEEKS WHILE WE MADE THE SPRINT HOME. NOW, WHAT A MESS I HAVE!! THE PINE SAP IS BAKED ON THE GLASS AND PAINT FINISH OF THE TRUCK.

THE BEST PINE SAP REMOVER WOULD SIMPLY BE PAINT REMOVER. HOW DOES A COMPANY PUT TOGETHER A PRODUCT THAT REMOVES THE PINE SAP AND LEAVES THE PAINT AND FINISH ON YOUR TRUCK? SO WHICH PRODUCT DO THINK WORKS THE BEST?

THE BEST WAS THE PLASTIC CASINO PLAYER'S CARD, LIKE A CREDIT CARD. THE PINE SAP HAD BAKED TO A CRYSTAL LIKE SUBSTANCE AND THE PLASTIC CARD, WITHOUT SCRATCHING THE PAINT OR GLASS, CHISELED OFF THE PINE SAP IN SHORT ORDER.

PRETTY COOL, AND IT ONLY TOOK 30 MINUTES TO LOCATE AND REMOVE THE PINE SAP FROM THE PICK-UP. BESIDES MARY'S HELP, THE LOCAL NEIGHBORHOOD ROADRUNNER STOPPED BY TO INSPECT OUR WORK.
