HIKE
WE CAN LITERALLY STEP OUTSIDE THE CAMPER AND TAKE OFF IN ANY DIRECTION FOR A DESERT HIKE. THE HOMESITE IS 40 ACRES, BUT THERE IS NO OTHER DEVELOPEMENT IN THE VALLEY.
WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET THE OWNER OF THE SURRONDING LAND AND HE ASSURED US THAT NO ONE WOULD BE SHOOTING AT US FOR GOLD CLAIM JUMPING WHILE OUT HIKING.
JUST DOWN FROM THE HOUSE IS A WASH, WHICH MAKES FOR EASY HIKING.
HERE’S A PICTURE OF ONE OF THE “HAPPY CAMPERS” OUT FOR A HIKE. I’D LIKE TO POINT OUT THE LIGHT BACKPACK MARY’S WEARING WHICH CONTAINS BOTTLED WATER. ALSO, MARY USUALLY TAKES A WAL MART BAG WHICH SHE USES TO PICK UP TRASH SHE FINDS.
ONE OF OUR FIRST FINDS WAS AN OLD MINE SHAFT FROM THE LAST CENTURY.
THERE ARE 100’S OF THESE ABANDONED MINE SHAFTS IN THE BLACK MOUNTAINS. THEY PRESENT A DANGER TO HIKERS AND ATV RIDERS. YOU COULD EASILY FALL IN AN OLD MINE SHAFT CAUSING INJURY OR LOSS OF LIFE. MANY OF THESE SITES ARE MARKED AND FENCED TO PREVENT THESE ACCIDENTS.
HERE ARE A COUPLE OF PICTURES OF THE NEW HOUSE. THE FIRST IS FROM BELOW THE HOUSE AND SECOND FROM EAST OF THE HOUSE.
THE FAMOUS “JUMPING CATUS”.
AND OUR VIEW ACROSS THE VALLEY TO THE MOUNTAINS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE VALLEY.
AS OUR SUMMER STAY CONTINUES I’M SURE THERE WILL BE MORE PICTURES FROM HIKEING AROUND THIS BEAUTIFUL DESERT VALLEY IN THE BLACK MOUNTAINS.
