WOODLAND TRAILS BSA
MY SCOUT CAMP ADVENTURES IN OHIO WERE ACTUALLY A DOUBLE HEADER. THE SECOND CAMP WAS A THREE DAY, TWO NIGHTS WITH THE CUB SCOUTS HELD AT CAMP WOODLAND TRAILS. THIS TIME IT WAS JOEY AND I, AND WE HAD TO PROVIDE OUR OWN TENTS.
WE HAD THESE TWO LITTLE (7’X7’) PUP TENTS AND THE PLAN WAS TO SLEEP IN ONE AND STORE OUR GEAR IN THE OTHER. WE IMMEDIATELY HAD A PROBLEM AS IT WAS TOO HOT AND CLOSE FOR GRANDPA TO SLEEP IN THE TENT WITH THE DOOR ZIPPED UP, AND TOO SCAREY FOR JOEY TO SLEEP WITH THE DOOR WIDE OPEN. I THINK IT WAS ABOUT 2AM AFTER SWITCHING TENTS IN THE DARK A COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE WE GOT ANY SLEEP……
PICTURES OF CAMP:
IN MY OPINION CUB SCOUTS ARE TOO YOUNG FOR SUMMER CAMP AND SHOULD SETTLE FOR DAY CAMPS INSTEAD. ALSO THE JULY HEAT AND THE HUMIDITY ARE TOO MUCH FOR GRANDPA’S ! CAMP DISMISSED…..
