FIRE MOP UP

WRITTEN BY REX
Custom Smiley THE ANGORA FIRE IS NOW 85% CONTAINED WITH A FEW ACTIVE HOT SPOTS LEFT TO PUT OUT. THE STATISICS, PICTURES, AND STORIES ARE AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE THROUGH OUT THE INTERNET.

AS FAR AS WE’RE CONCERNED, WE MADE THE RIGHT DECISION TO LEAVE CHRIS HAVEN AT THE LAKE AND GO TO SILVER CITY AT CARSON CITY. THE EVENING WE LEFT THE CHRIS HAVEN RV PARK HAD MANY HOT EMBERS AND SPARKS FLOATING THROUGH THE TREES. THESE DAYS CAMPER ROOFS ARE COVERED WITH A HIGH TECH VERY THIN RUBBER LIKE MEMBRANE, AND ONE LITTLE SPARK COULD HAVE CAUSED A HOLE (OR HOLES). TO REPLACE THE ROOF, IT COSTS $3800. HOW EMBARSSING IT WOULD HAVE BEEN TO MAKE A FIRE RELATED INSURANCE CLAIM ON MY CAMPER THREE DAYS AFTER THE FIRE STARTED? THESE TRAILERS HAVE WHEELS RIGHT?

THE FIRE HAS ALSO HAD A NEGATIVE EFFECT ON BUSINESS AT THE CASINO. FEWER CUSTOMERS MEANS FEWER DEALERS, FEWER HOURS, FEWER TIPS, AND OF COURSE THE SUMMER HELP IS FIRST BE CUT. WHEN THE 4TH OF JULY SCHEDUAL FIRST WENT UP WE WERE HAPPY TO SEE 6 DAYS AND 48 HOURS OF WORK. NOW IT LOOKS LIKE WE WILL BE LUCKY TO GET 35 HOURS, AND TOKES ARE DOWN.

WE PLAN TO RETURN TO THE LAKE WITH THE CAMPER ON TUESDAY, AND CAN ONLY HOPE THAT THE HORDES OF SUMMER VISITORS RETURN SHORTLY AFTER………….

They'll be back, for curiosity if for nothing else

You were very smart to leave when you. We just bought out 1st rv last spring and are finding out the costs of replacing things if needed, so good for you! People will come back and you will get OT! A heat wave is coming in for us, so I am getting chores done early. The west coast should get hot enough to do sticky buns without a fire! Stay cool--be safe.

I'm glad you made the decision too!! Uncle Hans is right they will be back to see all the damage and you will get your hours back. I'm sure Mary is looking forward to the departure of hot & crabby Rex as well :)

Yup, we're all happy that you pulled back to safety. Good luck going back "uphill". Hope it doesn't snow on you again.
