YELLOW RIVER

IT WOULDN’T BE A TRIP HOME WITHOUT A VISIT TO YELLOW RIVER STATE FOREST. TO BE TRUTHFUL YELLOW RIVER FEELS LIKE HOME TO MARY AND ME.

MARK AND JAYNE WERE CAMPED FOR MOTHER’S DAY WEEK-END AND WE FOUND MARK FISHING  ALONG LITTLE PAINT FOR TROUT. IT WAS A LITTLE COOL BY DESERT RAT STANDARDS, AND WE HEADED INTO HARPERS FERRY TO WARM UP AND HIT THE TAVERN FOR LUNCH.

OF COURSE BEING AT YELLOW RIVER I TRIED MY LUCK AT MUSHROOM HUNTING AGAIN, BUT ONLY FOUND MORE PRETTY WILD FLOWERS INSTEAD.

MARK STARTED A CAMPFIRE TO TAKE THE CHILL OFF, AND EVEN THE SMOKE SMELLED GOOD….(MARY AND JAYNE WERE SITTING BY MR. HEATER IN THE CAMPER).

MARK LOADED UP OUR BEER COOLER WITH TROUT FILLETS AND WE FRIED THEM UP AS SOON AS WE GOT HOME.  THEY SURE GOT AZ’S INTEREST….BUT DESPITE HOW IT LOOKS….HE DID NOT GET ANY!!  THANK YOU SO MUCH MARK FOR THIS WONDERFUL TREAT!!

AIM AND PAULIE, BESIDES THE THE FRESH FRIED TROUT, AND SIDES FROM PIGGLY WIGGLY WE ALSO HAD FRESH, NEVER REFRIGERATED CHEESE CURDS FROM WAUKON.  CAN YOU SAY “SQUEEKY”?

IF I WON THE LOTTERY NEXT WEEK, I’M SURE I’D BE CAMPED AT YELLOW RIVER THE WEEK AFTER.
