SIOUX FALLS, SD

BY REX
Custom Smiley ON PAPER THIS IS WHERE WE LIVE, SO YOU COULD SAY TODAY WAS A TRIP HOME? SOUTH DAKOTA REQUIRES WE SHOW UP IN PERSON TO RENEW OUR DRIVER LICENSE EVERY FIVE YEARS, SO TODAY WAS THE DAY. ACTUALLY OUR LICENSES DON’T EXPIRE UNTIL OUR BIRTHDAYS (JAN. & APRIL), BUT WHO THE HELL WANTS TO GO TO SOUTH DAKOTA IN JANUARY? THE STATE IS VERY RV FRIENDLY AND ALLOWS US TO RENEW SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE. TAKE A NUMBER AND WAIT WAS THE ORDER OF BUSINESS AT THE DRIVER’S LICENSE STORE. THINGS ARE FINE AT HOME, THE OFFICE THAT DOES OUR MAIL FORWARDING AND VEHICLE REGISTRATIONS, AND THE GIRLS STILL HAVE OUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO SNAG OUR MONIES AND KEEP THE MAIL AND OUR BILLS COMING.

I SEE A NEW TREND DEVELOPING, TODAY MARY SAW A ROADSIDE SIGN FOR THE PIPESTONE NATIONAL MONUMENT, YESTERDAY IT WAS THE SPAM MUSEUM. SO IT’S OFF TO PIPESTONE, MINNESOTA AND A LOOK AT THE MONUMENT. IT TURNED OUT TO THE QUARRY SITE OF PIPESTONE USED BY THE PLAINS INDIANS FOR PEACE PIPES. TO THE INDIANS IT IS, OF COURSE, SACRED GROUND, AND TO THIS DAY ONLY NATIVE AMERICANS CAN QUARRY AND REMOVE THE SOFT RED STONE. EVEN THEY MUST DO A BUNCH OF PAPERWORK AND CAN ONLY USE HAND TOOLS TO DO THE MINING. THE INDIAN ART WORK AND CRAFTSMANSHIP ARE BEAUTIFUL. I WONDER IF TOMORROW SHE WILL SPOT A SIGN FOR THE IOWA COWSHIT MUSEUM?
