OATMAN (YES, AGAIN)

I KNOW, I KNOW, HOW MANY TIMES ARE WE GOING TO BLOG ABOUT OATMAN, AZ, RIGHT ON ROUTE 66. LET ME EXPLAIN IT AGAIN, WE ARE CAMPED VERY CLOSE TO OATMAN AND IT'S ALL RURAL ROADS TO GET THERE. BESIDES WE LOVE OATMAN !!!

THIS TIME IT ISN'T REALLY MY FAULT, LAST WEEK GRANDMA MENTIONED SHE'D LIKE TO RETURN TO OATMAN JUST TO POKE AROUND THE SOUVENIR SHOPS, ETC.

OF COURSE WHAT MAKES OATMAN WORK AS A TOURIST TRAP ARE THE WILD BURROS. WE HAD JUST PARKED THE CAR AND THIS BURRO HAD HIS SITES SET ON GRANDMA FOR SOME REASON. WAS IT THE COLOR OF HER JACKET? THIS SERIES OF PICTURES WAS TAKEN JUST AS FAST AS I COULD PRESS THE SHUTTER ON THE CAMERA, AND AS YOU CAN SEE THE BEAST KINDA SURPRISED GRANDMA AS SHE WAS GETTING OUT OF THE CAR.

THESE TORTOISES LOOK A LOT LIKE LIKE THE DESERT TORTOISE OF THE SOUTHWEST, BUT THESE ARE ACTUALLY FROM AFRICA. OUR DESERT TORTOISES ARE STILL IN THEIR WINTER HIBERNATION.

DID YOU NOTICE THE BIG 75 POUND ONE IN THE BACKGROUND?

THIS IS A SAGUARO CACTUS THAT GROWS INSIDE A GIFT SHOP RIGHT UP THROUGH THE ROOF.

YOU CAN'T VISIT OATMAN WITHOUT SEEING SOME GREAT MOTORCYCLES.

WE FINISHED TODAY'S ROAD TRIP AT A MEXICAN RESTRAUNT, AND DINNER.

ALL IN ALL A BEAUTIFUL ROAD TRIP, BUT NOT THE END OF THE OATMAN BLOGS..........
