HASH HOUSE A GO GO
HASH HOUSE A GO GO IS AN OFF STRIP LAS VEGAS RESTAURANT WE HAD HEARD ABOUT AT WORK. ORIGINALLY I HAD PROMISED MARY THAT I WOULD TAKE HER THERE TO EAT DURING "VEGAS 80", BUT NEVER GOT A ROUND TO IT.
SO ON THE VEGAS BIRTHDAY TRIP IT WAS WAS VERY HIGH ON THE AGENDA, AND WE INVITED PAULIE TO JOIN US FOR A BIRTHDAY LUNCH.
IT'S A FARM THEMED RESTAURANT, AND HERE'S A LOOK AT THE INSIDE.
THE SUCCESS OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS THE FOOD. FARM SIZED PORTIONS AND A FLAIR FOR ARTISTIC PRESENTATION.
REX'S ENTREE' WAS A HAND HAMMERED PORK TENDERLOIN SANDWICH. NOW THIS IS A 16 INCH PLATTER FOR SERVING THIS SANDWICH. THE MEAT WAS ACTUALLY BIGGER THAN THE TENDERLOIN SANDWICH IN ST OLAF, IOWA. THE BUN LOOKS REALLY STUPID......NOT SURE WHY THEY BOTHER.
NEXT IS MARY'S GRILLED PORTABELLA MUSHROOM SANDWICH WITH PESTO SAUCE. OF THE THREE MEALS SERVED THIS ONE SCORED THE LOWEST, BUT IT SURE IS PRETTY LOOKING.
PAULIE HAD THE CORNED BEEF HASH, REMEMBER IT'S A HASH HOUSE, AND IT WAS SERVED IN 12 INCH BLACK CAST IRON SKILLET, JUST LIKE GRANDMA WOULD USE DOWN ON THE FARM.
AS YOU CAN TELL FROM THE PICTURES WE HAD DRINKS AND LUNCH OUT ON THE FRONT PORCH IN PERFECT WEATHER, "SUNNY & 80".

the best part about the blog today is the pic with Rexs plate with a burning cigartte in the ashtray right next to his plate...do you eat and smoke at the same time???????? The beer didn't look so bad;)
