SPINEY LOBSTER
IT’S THE LOBSTER SEASON HERE ON CAYE CAULKER. SALLY, THE LANDLADY, SENT US OVER TO ROSE’S TO CHECK OUT THE LOCAL CATCH.
YUP, THAT’S THE COOK STANDING OUT FRONT OF THE RESTRAUNT IN THE STREET. HE’S GETTING THE CHARCOAL LIT AND READY FOR THE SUPPER RUSH. WE SAT AT THE RAILING DIRECTLY OVER LOOKING THE GRILL.
NEXT WE STEPPED UP TO THE PREP TABLE TO SELECT OUR LOBSTER.
HEY, WHERE ARE THE LOBSTER’S CLAWS? THAT’S WHERE THE SPINEY LOBSTER NAME COMES IN. THERE ARE NO CLAWS, THEY ARE ALL TAIL.
WHICH ONE WOULD YOU LIKE? THAT WAS EASY, WE WILL TAKE THE BIGGEST ONE AND SPLIT IT FOR DINNER.
WAS IT FRESH? WHEN WE SET THE LOBSTER DOWN AFTER TAKING PICTURES, IT MADE OFF ACROSS THE TABLE IN AN ATTEMPTED ESCAPE.
WACK !! THE CHEF BUTTERFLIED THAT LOBSTER BEFORE I COULD GET THE CAMERA TURNED ON, AND WAS CLEANING IT.
NEXT COMES THE SECRET BELIZEAN SPICE RUB, BUTTER, AND THE HOT GRILL.
DINNER IS SERVED …….
