OLD MEXICO
IT WAS ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE GLORIOUS THREE DAY WEEK-ENDS AND WE HAD PLANNED TO DRIVE STRAIGHT SOUTH AND CROSS THE BORDER INTO ONE OF THOSE MEXICAN BORDER TOWNS.
YOU KNOW CHEAP VANNILLA, DRUGS, BORDER PATROL, PASSPORTS, DRUG LORDS, GUNS …….
AT THE LAST MINUTE WE DECIDED NOT TO GO, BECAUSE OF A RAIN STORM COMING ACROSS THE DESERT AT YUMA AND LAKE HAVASU. YUP, THAT’S OUR STORY AND WE’RE STICKING TO IT.
THE SHOULDER SEASON HAS WORN US DOWN FINANICALLY AS WELL. WORKING 25 – 30 HOURS A WEEK IN FOUR DAYS SOUNDS GOOD AT THE TIME, BUT COME PAYDAY IT CATCHES UP TO YOU. THROW IN A COUPLE OF INSURANCE PREMIUM BILLS AND START PAYING RENT AGAIN, AND THE WHEELS ON THE BUS STOP GOING ROUND AND ROUND.
THE PACKERS MADE ME A LITTLE NERVOUS THIS WEEK, HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE LIONS?
