1,250 MILES
1,250 MILES AND WE’RE OFF THE MOUNTAIN AND ON THE BEACH. WE TOOK A COUPLE OF DAYS TO MAKE THE DRIVE TO SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TEXAS ON THE GULF COAST.
EVEN THE CATS SURVIVED THE ROAD TRIP. AFTER SLEEPING TWO WHOLE DAYS, “AZ” IS A HOLY TERROR RACING AROUND THE CONDO, JUMPING ON THE FURNITURE, HE EVEN HAS HIS NOSE PRESSED TO THE GLASS PATIO DOORS TO SEE AND HEAR THE WAVES CRASHING ON THE BEACH.
SPEED
I GREW UP IN THE 60’S AND OUR DRUG OF CHOICE WAS SPEED, AND I’M NOT TALKING LITTLE WHITE PILLS, BUT DRIVING CARS. HELL, THE FAMILY PONTIAC WENT 130 MILES AN HOUR, WHEN YOU BURIED THE NEEDLE. IT WAS A BIT OF A WAKE UP CALL DRIVING THE INTERSTATE ACROSS TEXAS WHERE THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT IS 80 MPH AND THE CRUISE CONTROL IS SET ON 85. AS KIDS WE RACED UP THE ROAD HERE AND THERE, BUT A 12 HOUR DAY DOING 85? ONE THING FOR SURE THE MILES CLICK AWAY IN A HURRY ON THE GPS SCREEN.
AND AT NIGHT? I CONFESS, I JUST COULDN’T DRIVE 85 MPH IN THE DARK……..
BACK TO THE BEACH
ENOUGH OF THAT, BACK TO THE BEACH, I KNOW AIM AND THE BROTHERS WANT TO SEE A FEW PICTURES.
SUNRISE ON THE GULF
THE BEACH GROOMER REMOVING SEAWEED, AND ERACING YESTERDAYS FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND.
THE CONDO BUILDING ON THE BEACH
COMPLETE WITH HOT TUB AND POOL
A SHOT OF THE POOL, TAKEN OFF OUR BALCONY
WE DID A WALK ABOUT, ON OUR FIRST DAY UP AND DOWN THE BEACH TO CHECKOUT THE BEACH BARS, BUT I FORGOT THE CAMERA, AND PROMISE TODAY TO KEEP THE CAMERA IN MY POCKET ALL DAY, (EVEN WHEN WE MAKE THE WALMART RUN).
“SUNNY AND 90” ON DA BEACH !!!
